The Glades at Byford has become the first development in Western Australia to achieve certification in three categories in the Urban Development Institute of Australia's EnviroDevelopment program. The Glades has achieved certification in the Ecosystems, Water and Community categories of the program, which assesses the sustainability credentials of a development. Download Flyer. The Glades has been named the Housing Industry Association (WA) GreenSmart Residential Development of the Year 2011.
The HIA GreenSmart judges commented that although the development is still in its infancy, it is clear that when it is completed, the overall development will have raised the bar for other developers.
They also praised the consideration that LWP has given to passive solar-design and highlighted the eco-friendly bonuses such as the inclusion of a 2,500 litre rainwater tank and waterwise front yard landscaping packages with each homesite. |
